When God plants the prophetic seed (word) into your ground (spirit), there has to be time for the seed to set and form. The seed establishes strong roots and matures and begins to grow beyond the ground as a result of the consistent watering of the Word of God. There is the seed. There is time. Then there is the harvest.

“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease” (Genesis 8:22).

While the seed is hidden, this is the time for you to discover who you truly are—a process that never really ends. This is the time for you to realize that there is potential, power, and purpose in the seed. This is the time for you to build strength from within and break through the ground (mindset) of limitation and lack.

Once the seed is planted, your purpose begins the process of revealing itself to you and those around you, but it starts in that hidden place deep within your soul. Yes, it may feel as though you are alone in the dark, trampled upon and flooded by the issues of life and suffocated by the cares of this world, but you are growing. It may not feel like you’re growing, but you are. There is life in the seed.

After the seed is planted, it doesn’t discuss its discomfort with other seeds. My mom has a green thumb, and I remember one day asking her how was she able to keep her plants alive and thriving for so long. They were always green and flourishing. My mom answered, “Talk to them, and tell them how beautiful they are.” That is powerful and still resonates within my spirit.

Watch the words that are spoken over your seed.

Discerning those who are called to help the seed to grow and flourish is very important in the realm of the prophetic. There are many wolves dressed in sheep’s clothing sent by the devil himself to prey upon your vulnerabilities while you are growing, maturing, and becoming grounded and rooted in the faith.

“And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come” (Matthew 24:11–14).

Be watchful who you allow to speak over your seed and what you allow to enter into your ground. Ask the Lord for the gift of discerning of spirits in order for you to judge righteously. Actually, and in many instances, simply using common sense to assess the character and integrity of others is all that is needed. The Word of God says, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?” (Matthew 7:15–16)

For those who are in your current circle, ask yourself, “What is their seed producing? Is it producing good fruit, rotten fruit, or no fruit?” The answer doesn’t take discernment but simply an inventory of the fruit produced by a person’s lifestyle.

And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord. (Luke 1:41–45)

The seed of David was hidden in Mary’s womb. Mary, being enveloped in God’s glory, was led by the Holy Spirit straight to Elizabeth who had been barren but was now in her sixth month of pregnancy with the supernatural seed of John the Baptist.

You are not alone on this prophetic journey. The Bible records that once Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in Elizabeth’s womb and she was filled with the Holy Ghost and spoke with a loud voice. In other words, she prophesied. Go, and run to your Elizabeth. Your Elizabeth will speak life to your seed. Your Elizabeth will confirm the Word of the Lord that was spoken into your life.

The seed in your Elizabeth will bear witness with the seed in you.
